My husband and I were there from the beginning. Love the staff and the owners. Moved away from Mt. Pleasant 12 years ago and still make a point to eat there every time we get back to Mt. Pleasant. Can't really pick a favorite. Winter time- French Dip. Summer- Belle Hall. When in doubt? Fish and Chips!

Belle Halls best and only bar that remains a constant for the Mr.P crew and any other passersby that swing through the large lit with the deep, slip like parking spots. Very well illuminated at night to boot. When looking over Charleston's restaurants reviews, most every food and beverage establishment has four to five stars. It messes up the ability to truely define a great sports bar with equally impressive bar-ish foods to a Buffalo Wild Wings, clearly a sub par sports bar with the same star rating. (We need halves) The two bars are worlds apart in my opinion, I hope you finger food lovers (typically taking the shape of a chicken wing), agree and appoint properly. The best craft beer choices on tap are served up fast and with a genuine smile by true bar professionals, not transients. The burger meat seems to be of a more choice cut of ground meat. Each time I take my first bite, regardless of how adventurous my toppings may go, the meats juicy deliciousness is right on you, its immediate satisfaction. Gosh I loved living in Belle Hall.

Darn good service. The D&D Daycare is the snackiest snack...goes well with a beer & is also good for kids....beer - not so much. They also have a tasty Rachael, but they call it "The Stranger." We come here & bring Felicia, our dog, who looks just like the mascot dawg. Four stars instead of five because they allow smoking. Smokers are nasty people & deserve what they get. IDGAF if anyone feels differently.

We've been here several times now, I have been quite happy with each experience. The menu has quite a few offerings, and their Friday night ribs are pretty good for a spot that isn't BBQ-centric. Monday night trivia is fun here, though the host is not as funny as most trivia I have been to. I'm assuming it is the same host here every Monday, so he makes me a bit hesitant to come back. Definitely a great local watering hole.

went there last night on a whim. Great happy hour specials and awesome "name that tune" trivia on Thursday nights. Had such a great time and the staff was excellent and very accommodating.

Great draft selection and fantastic food! The Joe Joe's are one of my all time favorites (potato chunks smothered in melted cheese, green onion, and bacon, served with ranch &/or sour cream), also highly recommended is the Yeti burger with delicious sweet BBQ sauce, bacon, and a sourdough bun. On top of the delicious food and beer they have music trivia every Thursday night at 7 which is loads of fun amd the 3 winning teams are awarded Dog and Duck gift certificates. Don't miss it!

We were pretty excited about this place because it looks cool, but were pretty disappointed. The food was fine, I would probably even eat there again if it wasn't for the service. The place was pretty empty, and the server did come over immediately when we sat down - but then he must have forgotten about us. He came back with the food, but then we never saw him again - until, after never having been checked on after the food was put down, we turned around and he was on his phone at the bar. I went to the bar to ask for the check, since it had been probably 20-30 minutes since we last saw a server, and he (the bartender) sent some other waiter over with the check. I recognize that our original server may have been off the clock at that point but I believe its customary to let your table know and/or send someone else to check on your table from time to time? It was kind of a weird experience. Which is too bad because we came from the most AMAZING service experience at the wine bar next door... edited to clarify that the person I approached at the bar was the bartender, not the original server.

Great wait staff (seriously, these folks bent over backwards to accommodate us), a nice open and airy space, and pretty good food (I'm not going to kvetch about munchies at a bar, the food here was definitely more than adequate). The folks I came with loved the T-Shirts with the bar's logo on them and had to buy two of them. I would definitely go again if I was ever back in town.

Dog & Duck is one of my husband and I's favorite casual pubs near our apartment. They have a wide array of entree choices - everything from sandwiches to tacos. I really like the blue moon calamari and the fried pickles for appetizers and the pub burger is fantastic. I can't get enough of the zesty fries, as well. The tacos were a little bland for my liking, but some people may like them that way. We've always had great service and their selection of beer is great. Once I've tried more of the items on their menu, I'll add to my review.

I have been a frequent customer of dog and duck for years! Their food is excellent! They have specials everyday that are always worth a try. Including rib night every Friday! Their best flavored wings are the ones on their happy hour menu and their nachos are a must try! They are known for having a great french dip, but my favorite is their burgers and the stranger. Their sweet potato fries are superb! Great happy hour specials. They always have different events whether it is bands, trivia, oyster roasts, etc. They also have a Bloody Mary bar on the weekends that lasts until 4pm. Great place to bring your dog and sit outside when it is nice! Highly recommend this place when you are looking for a casual laid back dinner with some friends!

Food was good, actually the spicy remoulade was really good. .50 off beer at happy hour and $1 off apps. I'm going to have to come back for trivia night

The French dip was really good. I've had a few of their sandwiches, but this was the best! Beer was a little pricey, though....$6 for a not so cold draft of Natty Greene.

Still like this place a lot and service was good again, but the calamari appetizer leaves a lot to be desired. Only $4 on the happy hour menu, but the portion was incredibly small and under-cooked.

I've been the a few times. Mostly for trivia. I have it four stars because they have consistent quality, but it's really nothing to special. Also they usually have good changing beers on tap, so that's a plus. My one complaint is that their WiFi almost never works.

Nice sports bar with a good lunch menu that has varied and changing specials. The guys in the office voted and I drove us here. Service was very good and the food was served reasonably promptly. Since we arrived right in the center of the lunch hour, it wasn't exactly fast but reasonable. I had some sort of pastrami and provolone stuffed sub roll, which came with crushed red pepper on top. Mmmmm... yummy. And the crispy waffle fries were perfect for scooping up a portion of ketchup. Nice outside seating area! No complaints, I'll be back!

I eat at Dog & Duck about once every other week (even once a week every now and then!). I thoroughly enjoy the food and atmosphere. The French Dip, Fish & Chips, Burger, and Grilled Cesar Salad are all AMAZING! Reasonably priced and great customer service. Dog and Duck is simply a must if you are in the Charleston area!

A former regular at D&D Park West. Relocated to Bell Hall. What a disappointment! Staff at Park West go way out of their way to be helpful. All they have here is surely Sunday bartenders and a broken router so no internet. Wishing I still lived in Park West!!

Fun place, good food, great staff. The owner is from Michigan so we always get to see all the MI sports teams on tv!

Dropped in after a long day at the beach. Best service I've ever had in the low country. My little girls, tired and crabby, we're treated like royalty. Games, books, crayons, and dessert. The food was good too. I had the shrimp tacos. Wouldn't give them a 5 star, but my wife's turkey wrap I definitely would. We need more places like this.

Always consistently good . We ordered the clam strips- my husbands favorite- for an appetizer Another favorite for lunch is the tuna melt, so we ordered this and split. The bar and wait staff are always super friendly and fast Great neighborhood restaurant

Great atmosphere...when they say it's a family-friendly pub, it's exactly what they mean and they are correct. The food is great (I've had the Mahi BLT and the Greek salad, both were very good) and the beer selection is solid. I had a particularly good time at one of their Thursday night music trivia events (happens every week) and look forward to a visit during a Monday night trivia in the near future. Great service, good food, and good value. Highly recommended.

This is an awesome neighborhood pub! The service was AWESOME, NFL package, $12 domestic buckets, tacos, chips, excellent draft list. Dog friendly, cool clientele. Generally a very chill place - despite the Giants embarrassing performance yesterday, I had a damn fine time! I was so worried when I moved to SC that I wouldn't have a local pub I could pop into, but my concerns have been assuaged!

Good food and prices! With family in town and our living and working in the neighborhood it was our lunch stop 3xs this week! Can take a few extra minutes during the lunch rush so plan accordingly.

Best neighborhood bar ever...really...Patrons of all ages, families some nights, sports teams & fans, party people, locals from near & far. Best burger in town and best double dunked (dry-not special flavoered) wings on east coast maybe entire country. Meaty, & good size in the traditioal buffalo wing style or what ever sauce you want to dip them in. Greek salad & French dip great too. John the manager is on top if it!

Stopped by recently with a friend for a late lunch and a few drinks. Was happy to order from the happy hour food menu as prices were $4.00 per item. We ordered 4 menu items - wings, fried pickles, fried clams and egg roles and 2 buds. If the goal was to order more beer the kitchen succeeded. Food was so over salted that we order more beers just to wash down the grub. Food items all tasted the same - salt and battered grease. Won't be back anytime soon. Waitress was friendly and efficient and we tipped accordingly. Have eaten here before off the regular menu and never been disappointed. My advice- ditch the happy hour menu and offer free pretzels or popcorn as it will have same business effect but not rob your clientele.

The food and service is decent. It's about what you would expect from a bar. A good place to go after tennis or soccer. You can eat outside. My complaint is with the ladies room. I have never been there when it was clean. It is always NASTY. I don't want to think about the men's room if they let the ladies room get so bad.

Had the Hiroshima special today, it was grilled Yellowfin Tuna over a bed of rice with zucchini and squash with some killer asian sauce. The tuna was grilled with sesame seeds and was perfect. Not bad for $8 . Guess at 5 was the Oscars watch party so we left before that.

Recently tried the Dog and Duck after a year layoff for terrible service, things haven't changed. My buddies and I met there to watch a playoff game on a Sunday afternoon in January and were the only people at the bar (should have been a warning). Only one bartender who was uninterested and unqualified to run a slow bar by himself. Spent more time watching the game himself then serving the customers. Food was above par but won't return due to bar service. We had to wait over 20 minutes to pay our tab and during this time two different couples came in, tried to order drinks and left frustrated. Get a new bartender and have more than one, they are cheap labor.

Not entirely sure what people were on when they wrote the reviews about poor service, but it must have been something quite powerful! Went in and sat at the bar. The bar tender immediately came over- no needing to whistle, holler, or wave my arms violently. Moreover, I was constantly attended to to make sure my drink was filled and my experience was good (note that it was not overbearing because that becomes annoying as well!). My food also came out quickly and when it came out it was extremely good! The food was plentiful and tasted superbly. The fries were insanely awesome. They were extremely crispy yet tender. The spice on the fries was stupendous, as well. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. The decorations were really neat and it was nice and open. The bar was somewhat odd with the little kink in it, but whatever! The kink did not detract from the experience whatsoever. TVs at the bar are good as well!

This is a fun locals-only kind of bar. The service is usually pretty standard, and the food is basic bar food. Usually you're going to be happy if you order whatever special they have concocted for the day. Unless you like big crowds and trivia, wait until later on a Monday night to grab a bite. It gets CRAZY. The bartenders are always spot on, and seem to be the place to get the best service. They also make for decent entertainment if there isn't a game on. They're also all pretty well-known for their ability to properly pour a Guiness. Whoot! Also, their wacky desserts are usually worth trying. And their chicken salad!

This place was a good find on our drive from Charleston to Myrtle Beach. An excellent selection of draft beer and a pleasant upscale-pub setting. I had a mahi sandwich and my husband had fish and chips; both were pretty good if not remarkable. Friendly, efficient service. It's tucked away in a shopping area, so you'll have to search for it.

Basic pub, decent food, great service. The Guinness pour I got almost added another star. It was done well and it had a little heart in the head. Comments?

Typical bar that wants to be a restaurant. Has the same ol' stuff in burgers, sandwiches, wings etc. Had some wings to start and they seemed oddly fatty and gross. I'm not one to scoff at something like wings but come on..very fatty and oily..the sauce seemed like a basic Tabasco-nothing special. Got the Reuben and was disappointed here as well. It was very "light" on the meat and I guess this place forgot a Reuben has dressing and kraut too as they were barely even evident on the sandwich. I've heard this place has good "beer specials" but beer isn't my thing. To tolerate this place maybe I just need a bottle of Patron or Crown.

Wow, the 3 star and less confuse me.. we eat there at least 3x a month, and the service, food and atmosphere is always great. I love the Rachel, the Reubin and the fish and chips. My son loves their philly cheese steak. Folks, this is a neighborhood eatery, with good food at good prices.. what exactly are you looking for.

I really like this bar. The staff is always friendly and the food is always on point. It's bar food but what else do you go to a pub for? I love the happy hour prices and food. If you're really hungry get one of the HH items and a sandwich - best of both worlds. Bill is right about the beer selection - could be stronger but they have the basics so I can't complain. Side note - if you go Monday, go early. Live trivia starts at 7p.

Came for lunch (don't know how good it is strictly as a bar). The food was okay but the service was terrible. We ordered 4 sandwiches and it took about an hour to get the food out. I ordered a Reuben that just wasn't stacked high enough for me.

  • Tommy V.

It's a good place to go grab a beer and a pretty great sandwich. The macaroni salad my most favorite macaroni salad this side of the parking lot. Don't waste your money on the happy hour food you hardly get anything and their sandwiches are what you really want. Actually, the fish n' chips is tasty and crispy too.

good spot for Mt P. now that it's non smoking it takes a step up. couple good things. disagree with prior HH food review, 2 mahi tacos or 10 wings for $4??? you won't do any better. service is decent, plenty of TV's with MLB, Big Ten and NFL. couple things they need to improve. draft selection, playing music during football games? Over all, a good stop. Couple changes would make it a contender.
